How Does it Work? There are three services offered at StudentSync:
Learning
- Community forums connect students to collaborate on school- and class-specific work. The basic option provides one community forum for all subjects and questions, while the premium option lets students narrow their focus and collaborate with peers in specific courses offered at Northfield High School.
Freelancing
- Freelance tutoring allows students to monetize their skills and knowledge to help others. StudentSync verifies tutors and then connects students to them, with tutoring sessions occurring off-platform (e.g., via Zoom or in person). The basic plan takes about one week to process applications, while the premium plan takes only one day.
Consulting
- StudentSync’s consulting service provides schools with insights from real student questions, helping teachers identify learning gaps and improve instruction. By transforming peer-to-peer tutoring data into actionable feedback, we empower educators to enhance student outcomes and tailor teaching strategies.
Our target audience is students 9th-12th grade that value their education and want to succeed in school and get the best grades and education posible.
StudentSync began when a group of students recognized a lack of effective support for their peers. While there are alternatives such as cheating, AI, Final 30, and other online tutoring platforms, we at StudentSync believe these solutions don’t fully address the real needs of students. Fast forward to their junior year—Drew, Caden, Greyson, and Wesley enrolled in an incubator class offered at their school, determined to make a difference by transforming how students learn and how teachers teach.
See what other students have to say about our platform!
Simply search for your class or subject in the app, and Student Sync will match you with a tutor familiar with your school’s curriculum. Or ask a question in the learn section and find someone from your class; however, the premium version will ensure it's class specific.
Yes, safety is a priority. All tutors and users are verified, and the platform is designed to foster a positive, respectful environment that only allows teachers and students.
Yes, as long as you are an actual student or verified recent alumni of your school! Students can sign up as freelance tutors in specific subjects under the "Tutors" page. It’s a great way to help others while earning experience and/or money if others are willing to pay.
Learning with peers fosters teamwork, makes challenging topics easier to understand, and builds confidence through shared knowledge and experiences.
Peer-to-peer tutoring provides qualities and skills that are difficult to replicate in AI counterparts. While AI has its place in the education industry, at StudentSync we believe human interactions still hold importance when it comes teaching and understanding hard topics.
